Well, sometimes we "exchange" boxes, but the X really stands for an
exchange of signature stamps. When you meet a letterboxer at a
gathering or on the trail or wherever, you stamp into their logbook
and they stamp into your logbook.

You now have a record that you have met that letterboxer. An "X".

The "X" stands for the letterboxers that you have met in person.

Or at least that is the way that I count it...remember, there are NO
RULES! :-)
